Detroit Red Wings at San Jose Sharks

October 19, 2007

The Detroit Red Wings (4-2-1) make their first visit to San Jose to play the Sharks (3-2-1) tonight since Game 6 of the NHL’s Western Conference final series last May. It’s the Sharks first chance to avenge the 2-0 loss on home ice that gave Detroit a 4-2 win in the best-of-seven series.

The big factor tonight is the possibility Detroit could be without its top two players: All-star defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom is listed as day-to-day with a rib injury, and Henrik Zetterberg, who is tied for the NHL scoring lead with 13 points, also is day-to-day with a sore hip.

Looks like a good time to take the Sharks, who are 135-moneyline favorites at betUS.
