Bettors like big Boise State spread

October 15, 2008

The 24½-point spread isn’t scaring away bettors from the Boise State Broncos in their matchup with WAC rival Hawaii Warriors.

Public betting numbers indicate 62 per cent of bets placed on the game are on the favored, No. 15-ranked Broncos, who host Hawaii on Friday (8 pm ET, ESPN).

Bet this NCAA Football game at Bet Jamaica, which has the total at 52. About 77 per cent of Over/Under bets for this game are on the Over.

The Broncos are 6-3 SU and 5-4 ATS in the past nine meetings with the Warriors. But it was Hawaii that won the last meeting, 39-27, last Nov. 23. The Warriors covered the 3-point home spread but the score fell under the big total of 75.

Hawaii scored 21 points in the first half in Week 7 en route to a 24-14 win over Louisiana Tech. The Warriors were only able to PUSH the 10-point spread in that game and the score went under the total of 50.5.

Kellen Moore threw three TD passes as Boise State defeated Southern Mississippi 24-7 in Week 7. Boise State covered the 11-point spread, but the game’s 31 points fell well under the total of 57.

Hawaii is 3-3 SU and has won two straight. Boise State is 5-0 SU and 3-1 ATS has won five straight.

Injuries for Hawaii include RBs Jake Heun (back) and Joey Cadiz, who are both listed as questionable. For Boise State, DB Cedric Febis (knee) and DL Joe Bozikovich (shoulder) both will not play.
